1 lb. green beans
4 ozs. grated coconut
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 onion (chopped)
2-3 green chillies (chopped)
2-3 tsp Maldive fish (crushed)
salt to taste
2 cloves garlic (chopped)

Sri lankan Green Bean Mallun recipe


Wash the green beans, remove strings and shred very fine (you can use a food proccessor). Add all the above ingredients except grated coconut and cook until beans are tender but dry.
Now add the grated coconut, mix well and cook for about 5 more minutes over low heat. Remove from fire and enjoy with rice and curry.
