1 pkg Soya Chunks (200 g) – Those who live abroad can buy at Indian stores
Cooking oil for deep frying
For the Sauce Mixture:
1 tbsp chopped garlic & ginger
2 tspn black pepper powder
1 tspn red chillie powder
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 cup pineapple juice or 1 tbsp sugar desolved in 1 cup water
1 soup cube desolved in 1 cup water
salt to taste
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp corn flour
Add the soya chunks to boiling water with a pinch of salt and let stand for 10 minutes. Then drain the water and squeeze the soya chunks thoroughly to remove all the absorbed water.
Add a little salt and deep fry until golden brown or crispy. For the sauce mixture, dessolve the corn flour in cold water. Then add the desolved corn flour and all the ingredients for the sauce mixture into a pan.
Bring it to a boil until the sauce thickens. Now add the fried soya chunks into the sauce and mix well. Can add a little more black pepper powder if desired to make it more spicy. Serve with rice and curry.
